As part of the cross-border research project IKIC, we try to optimize the cooperation between Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany in the border region to strengthen the sense of community. Cross-border collaboration is a crucial and current element in emergency medicine. Especially in times of crisis it is important to work together and to support each another. ‘Crisis Resource Management’(CRM) is a well-known training concept that supports you in dealing with particularly difficult situations. CRM refers to a set of principles such as cognitive processes, human factors and soft skills that contribute to successful teamwork in a crisis.

Today, CRMs have a fundamental place in healthcare. CRM enables the optimisation of resources, procedures and people to improve the quality of care and patient safety. In addition, CRM helps to reduce the number of adverse events in healthcare and mortality during resuscitation.  It is a real tool for improving teamwork and its effectiveness.

You will find theoretical e-learning on CRM in this module.
